Young Life camping involves high adventure, lots of fun, great food and excellent speakers who understand and respect teens and young adults.
Students are able to get away from the pressures of everyday life, have fun with friends and their leaders, and hear the message of God's love in terms they can understand. Camp provides the opportunity and environment for young people with disabilities to open up and share their struggles, fears and thoughts about God.
Uniquely, our camps are area-centered meaning that students sign up and attend camp with their local area Capernaum or Young Life ministry. Reach out to your local area hear more about what they are planning for camp this summer!
VOLUNTEER opportunities
Adult volunteer leaders: Since our camping is area-centered, the volunteer leaders from the area attend camp with their students. If you are interested in serving as a leader please reach out to your local area.
High school buddies: High school peers who participate in Young Life alongside Capernaum friends. They model mutuality and authentic friendship while attending camp together - in addition to other area events year-round.
Work Crew/Summer Staff Coaches: High school (juniors and seniors) and college-age volunteers who work alongside our Capernaum friends while serving on Work Crew and Summer Staff. With the coaches support, our friends have the opportunity to serve at a YL camp property for 3-4 weeks in the summer.

Overnight Camping
We create spaces of belonging through Capernaum-specific camp weeks and inclusion camping woven throughout the traditional camp weeks.
Day Camping
Many areas also offer day camps to provide a layer of camping that fits a more diverse group of students who are not ready for overnight trips, or for those who it is not a good fit.
Adventure Camping
Adventure camp trips offer kayaking, hiking, backpacking, surfing, horseback riding and more! They are incredible trips to experience new things and go deeper in our faith.
Work Crew/
Summer Staff
Opportunities exist at our camps for Capernaum friends to serve for 3-4 weeks alongside their peers. This group of volunteers works hard to offer an amazing camp experience for the campers, plus they are able to go deeper in faith while living in community.
